More About Our Clinical Services

Asthma Care

Our doctors diagnose and treat childhood asthma. We offer in-office spirometry, peak flow measurements, pulse oxygen levels, and nebulized treatments. We initiate asthma plans and coordinate treatment at school and daycare.

ADD Evaluation and Treatment

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder — also referred to ADD or ADHD — is a biological ‘brain-based’ condition that is characterized by poor attention and distractibility and/or hyperactive and impulsive behaviors. Although there appears to be a strong genetic basis, the exact cause of ADD is unknown. Read more…

Childhood Vaccines

We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control guidelines for childhood vaccinations. Learn more….

Concussion Care

The physicians at PediCare are trained to evaluate concussion injuries and to manage the recovery period. This includes a complete neurovestibular history and exam as well as neurocognitive testing. The physicians manage recovery guidelines, school adjustments, and graduated exercise protocols. They will also determine clearance for contact sports as well as treatment or referrals for post-concussive syndrome. Learn more here: https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/index.html

Lactation Services

Our goal is to support a positive and rewarding breastfeeding experience for both mother and baby. We offer one-on-one breastfeeding visits to prevent and solve breastfeeding problems. During these visits our lactation specialist, Michelle Popoli, DNP, FNP-C, APRN, CLC, will take a thorough maternal/newborn history, discuss concerns about breastfeeding, observe a feeding, and develop a plan for success to help mothers achieve their personal breastfeeding goals. Common concerns include sore nipples, difficulty with latching, milk supply, and weaning. Whether you are new to breastfeeding or have breastfed before, we can help with any questions, concerns, or challenges.

Travel Health

Discuss your international travel plans with one of our physicians so that the doctor can confirm that your family is up to date on routine vaccinations. These vaccines are necessary for protection from diseases that are still common in many parts of the world even though they rarely occur in the United States.

There may be additional vaccines that are recommended to protect travelers from illnesses present in other parts of the world and to prevent the importation of infectious diseases across international borders. Which vaccinations your child needs will depend on a number of factors including your family’s destination, whether you will be spending time in rural areas, the season of the year you are traveling, your child’s age, health status, and previous immunizations.
